Cleaning the Blogroll

Finally, I have completed the housekeeping task on my blogroll. I think more than 100 links is already a lot for me and I do not want to do it when the list is longer than that. Even for the current list, it took me many hours to check and verify each one of them. Some of you may think that I am nuts but I have my reasons for doing that.
The objective of the exercise was to weed out some links that have not being behaving that good and I have decided to keep on doing that every month starting this month. During the last process, 17 sites were removed and that was due to one or more of the following:
- Inactive blogs - I am only counting up to three months from this month. Therefore, if a blog has its last entry before May 1st, 2008, I considered that as inactive.
- No link back to my blog - Some of the blogs that were in my blogroll did not have any link to mine.
If I have removed yours by mistake and your blog is not in any of the category above, please accept my apology and let me know and I will add it back to my list.
Next month, I will be doing the same thing and thanks to BlogRolling, it is very easy for me to do what I need to do. All the blogs that do not have the “updated” word next to it will definitely be investigated.
What about you? Do you go through your blogroll regularly? As for me, I just want only active blogs in my list.

Well, I don’t look them daily actually I’ve checked them once in a while.. but this post made me think about it.. So I’m going to check the links once in a month too.
