Yeah in my old hood I left my bike in the front yard every time I needed to go to the bathroom or eat lunch. Never lost it. Things are different for the city kids though. I think most people consider a bike laying around as free transportation. they use it... drop it off somewhere and someone else uses it to go somewhere else. the original owner usually ends up finding it again after it gets a flat tire. This is only true when you're talking about kids but thats what I've seen Paunchiness´s last blog post... Orgasm on a Bike?

On the bicycle test it wouldn't work here in my city. Sad to say but true because when my second child drop his cell phone on the jeep he was riding beside the driver we have not retrieved it because the driver strongly denied he found when my child was the only passenger riding in that jeep.
