For the past few weeks I have been reading about Alexa on many blogs that I have visited. So, I have been asking around about what it is all about. After a few replies that I have got from some friendly bloggers out there, now I know that Alexa is generally about traffic to our blogs.
I love traffic. I am just like one of those people who built super highways and then collect tolls from the users. The only different is that while it is mandatory to pay the tolls on the highway, it is not required here since your toll would be paid by the sponsors. And, my “toll” is not a fixed amount too…
Never mind, sometimes, I am not completely sure about what I talked or wrote here so just let it be. especially this post came after reading some stuffs at Alexa…
Anyway, back to Alexa. Kisahberuang.com has a traffic rank of 124,364. Not that bad for a less than a year old blog when compared to some blogs that are still in its million.
Then I went on further reading the stats and love to see all the green arrows on the 3 mos. Change column there.
Then, at the end of the stats, I saw that note: *Daily values are not available for sites ranked outside of the Top 100K.
That’s what Mission Alexa is going to be about. I am going to aim for Daily Values to be available on my Alexa stats. That could take years or forever but that will be the mission!
Kisahberuang.com must reach top 100K on Akexa!
Now back to some stats again.
Now I know why my Nuffnang ads revenue are not that hot. My Malaysian traffic is only 11.2%. So I need to get more Malaysian to come over here. I hope that they are not staying away because I do not write in Malay…
Well, nevertheless, Kisahberuang.com is ranked quite high as far as Malaysia is concerned and that is good. So. let’s see what will happen next week.

ko mmg hebat la. aku so far target nak bawah 500k dulu
then slow2 target 400k, then 300k
ko nyer dah masuk 100k-200k.

hahahaha….the first time i saw this blog i check the Alexa ranking and my god it is below 200K. I don’t even know how you achieve that n mind sharing with us what do you do to get the traffic here. who knows i might follow suit. heheheh

taukey, I have never paid attention to Alexa before and therefore, I have no specific tips on how this can happen but on daily basis, I would try to post an entry to this blog.
Then, I will drop some entrecards, left comments on people’s shoutboxes and whenever I come across any interesting post, anywhere, on any blog, I would leave my comment.
Apart from that I submit my post to places such as StumbleUpon, Digg, Negaraku.net, Facebook and a few more.
Sometimes, people approached me to sponsor some contests with my entrecard credits, I would just do that.
That’s all that I can think of. Like I said nothing specific or any special trick…

I had the same mission. I wanted to get within the top 100K in the first year and I did it within the first 9 months. That’s not super astonishing, but for a non-moneymaking, non-how-to-blog type blog, it’s pretty good.

kalau blog english. Pastu pandai main backlink, dengan sendirinya traffic datang. Kene plak main seo. Memang cepat je alexa leh under 100-200k.Biasa 2-3-4 bulan leh capai tahap tu. Kalau blog melayu. Susah sket la..lainla trafik tiap2 bulan dahsyat giler..

As it has been mentioned, commenting is very important to getting a solid Alexa ranking. I started my blog in July and have an Alexa ranking of 85,905.
Why? Because I’m a blasted loudmouth who leaves comments out of habit. Each comment creates a link back to my blog and that boosts my rating just a bit more.
Avoid spam comments, however. Nothing irritates people more than that “I stopped by your blog!” junk.
