Delivery from Jakarta

Posted on the February 20th, 2011 under Friends,Out and About,Pasha by

Last Saturday we went to LCCT. A few friends came from Jakarta for a holiday and on top of that, there was a delivery for Pasha from our family there. Pasha was all excited knowing that we’re going somewhere and he’s going to get something. Where and what were not of any concern to him…

Things have changed quite a bit since we were last there. The airport was more crowded than it used to be and the usual parking spaces were full. We had to park at the new space called Zone C and it was quite a long walk to the International arrival hall. Not to mention that it was a hot afternoon..

And when finally Pasha got his package, he could no longer wait to open it. He tried and tried but he could not get the tape off. In the end he agreed to open it in the car…

To our family in Jakarta: Thanks, we have received the package.
To Ika: Thanks for bringing it over.

Touch’n Go Frequent Users Reward Programs

Posted on the February 5th, 2011 under Out and About by

Last June I wrote about Touch’n Go 20% Toll Rebate for their users with a minimum total of 80 usages at all highways during a month. You can read that post here. I have been enjoying this program since then as I have to go through lots of toll booths on my daily travel between home and office.

The 20% toll rebate would at least give me about a week of usage and that is quite a good deal for me especially when employers do not care whether their staffs need to pay toll or not…

Recently, a reader, Jaraju posted this question:

I’m getting confused here… now they’re saying more than 100 times only get rebate (under Program Pengguna Kerap)?

I was surprised myself as I was not aware of the ending of the rebate program as well as a new frequent users program that requires 100 usages instead of 80. When I visited Touch’n Go website, true enough, I saw that there’s a new banner but unfortunately, not much details were provided there. Clicking the banner would just load the similar banner in landscape format. You can try that if you have nothing better to do.

I could see the LITRAK and LDP logo in the banner and my first guess was that this program is for the frequent users of  the LDP highway only. Furthermore, the 20% toll rebate banner, as shown above, is still there and that should make the program still available as it is.

However, I would not be right to provide answers to my readers based solely on assumptions. Furthermore, since I have promised Jaraju that I would find out from Touch’n Go about this new program and the status of the 20% toll rebate program, I contacted them.

Here are the responses and clarification from Touch’n Go on the reward programs:

Firstly, Touch’n Go confirmed that the 20% Toll Rebate program is still on. Here is what they said:

The 20% toll rebate program is for Frequent Users using Touch ‘n Go card/SmartTAG for Class 1 vehicle at all highways with total usage of 80 times or more in a month entitled for 20% discount effective 1 September 2009 onwards. We wish to reiterate that the 20% Toll Rebate programme is a government initiative to alleviate the financial burden of frequent tolled highway users in West Malaysia and the program is still ongoing until now.

Secondly, as expected, the new program is a specific program for LDP frequent users.

While LDP Frequent Travellers Programme (Program Pengguna Kerap) is a loyalty programme initiated by LITRAK and aimed to reward frequent users of the Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong. This programme will benefit ETC (Touch ‘n Go and SmartTAG ) users. The reward will be in the form reload value of 20% upon reaching the usage of 100 times within one calendar month for Touch ‘n Go and SmartTAG users.

I hope this clears the matter out. If you have any further enquiries, please do not hesitate to contact  Touch ‘n Go Careline Centre at 03-7628 5115 (7.30am to 9.30pm : Monday to Sunday), email to careline@touchngo.com.my or logon to their website, at www.touchngo.com.my for more information. They will be glad to assist you. Thanks Touch’n Go for the quick response.

Yogi Bear from Cik Peah

Posted on the February 3rd, 2011 under Out and About by

First of all we would like to say thank you to Cik Peah for selecting our entry as the winner for her recent “Love to me is…” contest. We did not have any plan to go for a movie at the cinema since that would be talking crowded places and limited parking spaces. However, the prize that we got gave us an excuse to go for a movie at the cinema again and the fact that it’s on CNY, we were expecting the place to be practically empty. Gong Xi Fa Cai!

That’s what we won from the contest and we decided to go watch Yogi Bear at the Cathay Cineplex e@Curve.

Pasha was very excited especially when he got his box of popcorns!

The movie was OK. It was quite dry in the middle but the starting and ending was quite hilarious. Pasha loves fountain and right after the movie, he insisted on visiting the fountain. Look at the place. Empty as expected. Just the way we like it.

We had lunch at the Bumbu Desa, The Curve. We were sitting outside when we first came but the smelly smoke and ashes came flying from that woman wearing the tudung, in the pic, drove us inside. What an inconsiderate smoker! As for the food, it was so-so. So, don’t really feel like writing about that.

All in all, it was one great family outing!
