
I had just finished renovating our home at Blogger and not long after that we got our confirmation on our new address at the
new Efx2. So, last night I went over to the new place to start another
godek godek (tweaking) exercise.
I had used WordPress before and before I even start, I had already imagine the limitations that I am going to bump into. Unlike Blogger that have lots of flexibilities, WordPress is somewhat rigid and only allow some standard customizations unless you host it on your own domain.
I really thought that the WordPress MU where the new Efx2 is built on would be similar to the normal WordPress but I was wrong. I am not sure about other things that are not there but one of the obvious one is the less number of templates to choose from. Geram aku!
Through out the night and early morning, I tried on all the templates and I could not find any that I really like. I found a few that allow me to customize the header but then I would have problem when I tried to copy our Blogger postings there. After going through the lot I have to settled for one that you can see at BBDP. This is the most flexible template where I can easily copy our Blogger entries to.
On the other hand, Diah, loves to put multi color fonts in her posts and, guess what? The so called “rich text editor” at the new Efx2 does not even support colored fonts. You can change the color of your fonts manually but as soon as you save it, the CSS would overwrite them.

Anyway, for the sake of the community spirit, we would be both at Efx2 and here and wish that the brilliant community leaders together with Keith would come up with all the widgets, gadgets, and whatever stuffs that would make the place unique and fun again. Just like the good old time…
I really missed the recent visitors feature in the old Efx2. That is one cool piece of thing that most people took for granted.
Can we have that back?
Last Weekend we went to Mid Valley for Vincci Shopping and some grocery shopping @ carrefour there.. and we went straight for nasi padang @food junction 03th fl.. when the time for iftar came… If u see my pic and Pasha you’ll found that Nasi Padang sign board above our heads..
For those who follow our blog must know that we’re crazy abt nasi padang… ehehe it’s simply delicious.. so many variety of food that u can choose… for me, i like the chick bbq d most! tried to cook myself some of d dishes… and d result was not quite d same as when we ate at d rest… kena belajar lagi.. yang iya nya Diah malas nak masak tuuu…

Any way i still like to keep all d recipes …
So here is d recipes that i found on d net…
1. AYAM BAKAR PADANG
BAHAN:
1 ekor ayam, belah jangan sampai putus(whole chicken)
1 sendok teh air jeruk nipis(
1 sendok teh garam
2 cm kayu manis
2 buah cengkih
2 batang serai, memarkan
5 lembar daun jeruk
500 santan encer
200 cc santan kental
3 sendok makan minyak untuk menumis
BUMBU HALUS:
8 butir bawang merah
5 siung bawang putih
4 buah cabai merah
1/2 sendok makan ketumbar
1/2 sendok teh merica
3 butir kemiri
2 cm kunyit
2 cm jahe, iris
1/4 sendok teh jintan
garam secukupnya
CARA MEMBUAT:
1. Panaskan minyak, tumis bumbu halus hingga harum, masukkan kayu manis, serai, daun jeruk, dan cengkih.
2. Masukkan ayam dan santan encer, masak hingga ayam matang dan santan terserap. Tambahkan dengan santan kental dan masak hingga kuah agak mengering.
3. Panggang ayam hingga kecokelatan, angkat.
4. Sajikan ayam dalam pinggan, taburi dengan bawang goreng.
Untuk: 8 orang
2. Sambal Goreng Udang Petai
Bahan :
* 100 gr udang buang kulitnya
* 10 biji mata Pete iris
* 1 ruas lengkuas memarkan
* 1 batang sereh memarkan
* 2 lbr daun jeruk
* 250 ml santan
* Garam secukupnya
* Penyedap secukupnya
* Gula secukupnya
Bumbu Halus :
* 10 cabe merah keriting
* 1 buah tomat cincang
* 3 siung bawang putih
* 1 ruas jahe cincang
Cara Mengolahnya :
* Goreng udang sampai setengah matang, lalu tiriskan
* Siapkan wajan dan panaskan minyak, lalu tumis bumbu halus dan sisa bahan (lengkuas, sereh, daun jeruk, garam, gula dan penyedap) sampai harum.
* Masukan udang dan irisan pete ke dalam bumbu yang sudah matang, lalu masukan santan aduk jangan sampai santan pecah. Setelah menyusut santannya, Siap untuk dihidangkan.
3. Gulai Ikan & Telur
Bahan:
* 500 gr ikan tongkol/kembung/kakap atau 5 butir telur rebus
* 1 liter santan dari 1 butir kelapa
* 1 batang serai, dimemarkan
* 25 gr daun kemangi
* 3 lembar daun mangkokan, iris kasar
* 2 buah bunga kecombrang, belah menjadi 2-4 (kalau ada)
* 1-2 potong asam gelugur/1-2 sdm air
* asam
* garam menurut selera
Bumbu yang dihaluskan:
* 75-100 gr cabai merah
* 6 buah bawang merah
* 2 sdt kunyit, dicincang
* 2 sdt jahe, dicincang
* ½ sdm lengkuas
Cara Membuat:
* Bersihkan sisik ikan/kikis bagian kulit ikan sampai bersih, buang sirip, insang. Potong menjadi 2-3 tergantung dari besarnya ikan. Cuci dan tiriskan.
* Didihkan santan, bumbu halus, serai, bunga kecombrang, daun mangkokan, asam gelugur, dan garam dalam panci di atas api sedang.
* Masukkan ikan dan daun kemangi, masak sampai seluruhnya matang sambil sekali-sekali diaduk supaya santan tidak pecah. Siap dihidangkan.
Catatan: selain ikan, bisa juga dipergunakan ikan/cumi-cumi. Bila memakai cumi, sesudah cumi dipotong, campur dengan bumbu dan serai, letakkan di penggorengan, jerangkan di atas penggorengan, tutup, sampai air cumi habis. Baru masukkan bahan lainnya, beri petai utuh yang sudah dikupas (kalau suka).
Untuk 3-4 orang.
4. SAMBAL CABAI HIJAU PADANG
Ingredients:
100 g cabai hijau besar, buang tangkainya
5 butir bawang merah
1 sdt garam
1 sdm air jeruk nipis
2 sdm minyak sayur
3 buah tomat hijau, iris tipis
1/2 sdt gula pasir
50 g teri jengki/teri tawar, goreng
Directions:
* Kukus cabai hijau hingga lunak. Angkat.
* Tumbuk kasar-kasar cabai hijau bersama bawang merah, dan garam.
* Perciki air jeruk nipis, aduk rata.
* Panaskan minyak, tumis cabai hijau tumbuk, aduk hingga harum.
* Masukkan tomat hijau dan gula pasir, aduk rata. Angkat.
* Masukkan teri , aduk rata.
* Sajikan.
5. Tumis Kacang Panjang
Bahan (untuk 6 orang)
* 3 siung bawang putih, memarkan
* 2 cm jahe, memarkan
* 2 buah cabai merah, haluskan
* 50 gram bawang bombay, iris kasar
* 150 gram daging sapi, cincang
* 30 buah kacang panjang, potong ukuran 3 cm
* 1 sendok teh garam
* 1/2 sendok teh merica bubuk
* 250 cc air
* 1 sendok teh minyak wijen
* 1 sendok teh tepung maizena
* 100 gram kacang mete
* 2 sendok makan minyak
Cara Membuat:
1. Panaskan minyak, lalu masukkan bawang putih, jahe, cabai merah, dan bawang bombay, tumis hingga harum
2. Masukkan daging sapi, aduk rata, masak hingga berubah warna, lalu tambahkan kacang panjang, aduk rata, masak hingga agak layu.
3. Masukkan garam, merica bubuk, dan minyak wijen, aduk rata, lalu tambahkan air yang telah dicampur dengan tepung maizena, aduk rata, masak hingga semuanya matang, angkat, taburi dengan kacang mete di atasnya

When the original efx2 officially fell to the ground, members were scattered all over the blog world and slowly one by one started to emerge from the ruins and build a new home some place, somewhere.
Recently, the brand new efx2 has come to life and the once close knitted efx2 community has begun its rebuilding phase. I could see more and more members have started to build their new home at that new world and some are even ready to welcome guests to their homes. Some circles of friends built during the efx2 era are now being re-established. It is really interesting to see all of these things taking shapes and pieces coming together within a short span of time.
However, some questions remain. Do you want to have a single home or another one for backup? Do you want to join the new efx2 or remain where you are? If you are going to update more than one place, which one would be the main?
While waiting for the new efx2, new homes were built on Blogger, WordPress, and may be some other worlds out there. Some actually moved back to the homes that they left behind when efx2 was in its heyday and started to renovate them in order to be as comfortable as it was in efx2. It goes to show that efx2 was really a special place to all who have called it home.
We are one of those “homeless” who took refuge at Blogger and have done a lot to make this place a home. May be we would be a few that would make this home as our main home while still taking a space at the new efx2 for the sake of the community. Within our circle of friends, Elisa and Mamarawks for example, have created their new places at efx2blogs.com and looks like they are updating both. These women have lots of stamina! There are some that have gone ahead with their wordpress.com homes such as, Oflionandbear and Rotidua.
As for us. we have asked for our space and waiting for the confirmation. Chances are, we would be posting at both sites. However, I, the Bear, personally prefer Blogger to WordPress due to the fact that Blogger allows customizations on the template and therefore, many things can be added easily. Whereas, at WordPress, customization is limited and it is quite difficult even to have a simple thing such as a shoutbox.
May be one day, Keith, the King of efx2 would come up with many of the luxuries that we used to have at the old place. This guy is really awesome for putting lots of personal efforts to ensure that the efx2 community remains alive! We shall wait and see what he would come up with in the future.
Anyway, wherever you are does not really matter. What matters is that we would all homes to be at and for friends to come around for a cup of cyber-tea and cyber-biscuits. Let us all keep in touch and have a great blogging time together!
