Still very busy at work lately. Tenders and stuffs leaving very little mood and energy to blog. On top of that, I am a bit under the weather this weekends. While thinking about a new entry, plugged in the earphone and played some Maharaja Lawak clips on Youtube. Then I bumped into this!

Every Monday students at Tadika Noble are required to sing the National Anthem and the Selangor Anthem. We have never taught Pasha to sing any of those and the songs that he knows are mostly the tunes from his favorite TV shows such as, Thomas and Friends and Chuggington. Other than that, he is only familiar with some nursery rhymes such as, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, the Alphabet Song and a few others. As such, Negaraku is something new to him.

Can you find Pasha? He is standing on the left, the third boy from the front. While others are singing, you can see Pasha doing other things such as closing both his ears, scratching his head. Well, he is doing many things except singing…

Noting the coming of the rainy season, here is a classic video for you to enjoy. This video is taken from the late Tan Sri P Ramlee’s movie titled Antara Dua Darjat. The movie was produced in 1960 and first shown to the public on May 28, 1960. I was not even born yet but this is one song that I love to listen from time to time even when I was just a kid…

The first part of the video is about Ghazali and his friends playing the song Alunan Biola while it was raining heavily… A simple song and yet an enthralling melody…

In 1994, I was sent to Switzerland to collect and bring back some technical drawings. For 5 weeks, they put up in a house in a quiet little kampung called Langenthal. In between the sound of cow bells and the fresh smell of cow dung every time the window is opened, the only entertainment there was from a small TV in the basement.

It had limited channels and all of the were in German. My favorite channel was one music channel, which I could not remember the name, that played lots of German and French songs and once in a blue moon, would play an English song. The Flame was one of the songs that I played a lot in 1988 when I was living in the US. 1988 was my first year in the US and I was longing for home, family, friends, people and pets… I was stranded by myself in Beaumont while all my friends were having a great time in Houston… duh… They are both cities in Texas and only about 1 hour drive away, in case you are wondering…

Pasha is now obsessed with Scrat and he calls him Misquit. I had to put the video in his PC so that he could watch it anytime he wants…

Mama caught Pasha singing while putting coins into his camel coin box.

Pasha is busy saving money for his toys. He wanted to buy more trains from the Thomas and Friends as well as the Chuggington TV shows. We told him that he must save some money first before we can buy him another piece to add to his collections. He somehow understood that we need money to buy his toys and therefore, he must make sure that he fills up his coin box as and when Papa gives him coins…

Does he know how much he need to save to buy one train? Yes, he does. One full coin box can buy one train. Lucky for us he is only 3+ thus ringgit and sen have no meaning to him yet… For now, at least…
