Angry Birds Rio is Here

Rovio and 20th Century Fox are proud to announce unique partnership uniting Angry Birds with summer animated feature film Rio.

Downloaded the latest series of the Angry Birds game titled Angry Birds Rio on my Android HTC today. As mentioned above, this version came about from the movie Rio which will hit the cinemas on April 15th.

From the makers of the hit Ice Age series, Rio is a comedy-adventure about taking a walk on the wild side. Blu is a domesticated Macaw who never learned to fly, living a comfortable life with his owner and best friend Linda in the small town of Moose Lake, Minnesota. Blu and Linda think he’s the last of his kind, but when they learn about another Macaw who lives in Rio de Janeiro, they head to the faraway and exotic land to find Jewel, Blu’s female counterpart.

Not long after they arrive, Blu and Jewel are kidnapped by a group of bungling animal smugglers. With the help of street smart Jewel, and a group of wise-cracking and smooth-talking city birds, Blu escapes. Now, with his new friends by his side, Blu will have to find the courage to learn to fly, thwart the kidnappers who are hot on their trail, and return to Linda, the best friend a bird ever had. Quoted from Angry Birds Rio arrives in March.

Too lazy to write so I am just going to do quotes only..

In Angry Birds Rio, the original Angry Birds are kidnapped and taken to the magical city of Rio, where they eventually escape their captors and set out to to save their friends, Blu and Jewel – two rare macaws and the stars of the upcoming Fox motion picture, Rio. Angry Birds Rio will pair the physics-based gameplay of the original game with unique twists based on the highly-anticipated film. Quoted from Angry Birds Rio arrives in March.

Enjoy the new game folks!

P/S:
Heard that Rovio will soon be charging the game for Android users…

Angry Birds: Release your Stress

Posted on the March 13th, 2011 under Games by

Angry BirdsIt was during one of the most critical moments of a project that I had to manage where things were hot and spicy. Stress levels were high among the project team members. One day, a friend, who worked in the same project, came with a brighter than usual smiling face, showed me something on her iPhone. Miss M, please have a good smile when you read this and thank you for the birds..

On her iPhone, I was introduced to the Angry Birds for the first time. She showed me how to play and imagine that the green pigs are the people that brought troubles to the project. We had a good laugh and stress levels effectively went down.. So, when I got my HTC Wildfire, the first app that was downloaded into it was the Angry Birds.

Shortly after that, both Pasha and Mama Pasha got hooked on it as well. Pasha can play it until the battery goes flat.. It takes strategies and lots of trial and errors to complete a mission.

Recently, when HTC upgraded Wildfire, from Android 2.1 Eclair to 2.1 Froyo,  Angry Birds Seasons made their way to my phone and now I have a collection of seasons for more hours of interesting and challenging game play. All thanks to Froyo, which allows apps to be installed into the SD card thus giving me the much needed space for the Angry Birds..

If you have an Android phone, iPhone or iPad, go and get the Angry Birds. Even if you are not stressed to begin with.. And if you have those gadgets mentioned and do not have Angry Birds installed, you might need to check your bird err.. brain head.. Peace!

Caution! Playing higher levels may introduce stress!

Android-Powered HTC Wildfire

Posted on the November 23rd, 2010 under Gadget by

Recently I got myself an Android-powered HTC Wildfire smartphone. Why Android? It’s just my preference over the others such as Blackberry or iPhone. Well, some people prefer chicken and some others prefer beef. Why HTC? I just like the way it feels in my hand. As solid as my old Nokia E71. Not to mention that it is good looking as well. Why Wildfire? I would love to get my hands on the Desire but as much as I have the desire to have it, the cost is way too much for me to spend on a phone. Wildfire is the most affordable HTC that runs Android and its specifications are sufficient for my needs. I don’t need a shotgun to kill a mosquito, do I?

Running on Android 2.1 Enclair, the Wildfire has been with me for about a month now and I am quite satisfied with its performance and stability. The best feature for me is the integrated address book or People. It links my contacts to their Facebook, Twitter and Flickr, that is if they are using any of those apps. Now I can have their phone numbers, email addresses, birthdays and some other infos without me having to key them in manually.

Here are my top 10 Android apps that I am currently using on the phone. If you have any suggestion on any other apps, please leave your comment.

  1. Foursquare – Now I can check in with ease!
  2. Facebook – Update my status or just see what’s the latest postings from my friends.
  3. Adhan Alarm – Alert on prayer times and a compass to show the direction of the Kiblat.
  4. CIMB Clicks – Check my bank account balance and get the latest currency exchange.
  5. ColorNote – An easy and simple way to take and keep notes.
  6. Maps – Google maps. Too bad the Google Navigation is not available for Malaysia yet…
  7. Waze – Turn by turn navigation. An alternative to Google Navigation and Garmin XT that I have on my E71.
  8. Desk Clock – Something to wake me up in the morning.
  9. Angry Bird – The most addictive game at the moment!
  10. Market – Where the apps above came from. Paid apps not available yet for Malaysia.

There you go! Did I miss any good ones up there? Do let me know okay!
