I have just received another payment from myLot for my posting activities in November 2008. Why do I choose mLot even though many bloggers are telling me that there are other paid-to-post sites that are paying more out there? The answer is really simple. Here are the list of why myLot is my choice:

Firstly, in myLot, you can write about almost anything for as long as you are not writing something that is against or violating the provided guidelines. Most other paid-to-post sites require that you write your article based on a certain categories or based on the assignment given to you with a certain dateline. I am no good with assignments as I write what and when I want to write.

Then, on some other sites, the amount that you can earn is pretty much fixed whereas the amount that you can earn on myLot is dependent directly on your own effort. The more your write and the better quality your writing is would be translated to your earnings. 

On some sites, you would only get paid if your postings are voted by other people, If no one votes on your posting, you would not be getting anything. On myLot, it does not really matter if you your posting are read or not as the post itself is already counted to receive some earnings.

These are just some of the reasons why I choose to post on myLot and not other sites. In summary, the flexibility and the less formal environment on myLot are the main criteria that I considered.

Last month I wrote a post introducing a program that you can make some side incomes with and some of the people who read that were quick to point out that myLot is a scam site and we should stay away from it.

Some preferred to wait until the day that I received my payment from myLot and now, your waiting is over since early this morning, I have received an email from PayPal that says… Read below:

That is the proof that some of you have been waiting for and that was achieved by posting for about a month at myLot. So, is that good enough to say that it is not a scam site?

Anyway, I have been tracking my progress for November 2008. This is done to ensure that I would be able to reach the next minimum payout level of $10 by the end of this month.

The graph above is showing my earnings on myLot up to the 11^th. I have set a daily target of $0.35 a day to make sure that by the end of the month I would get at least $10. You can see some obvious drops during the weekends as I spent more time with the family during that time. The rest are done during break time at work.

The above is my accumulated earnings plotted against the accumulated target. From here I can easily see whether I need to spend extra time or just post as usual. I can actually take a day off based on the graph above.

Side Income with myLot

“Congratulations, you have earned enough in October to qualify for November’s payment! We will process payouts on or before November 15.”

That is the message that I have been waiting for from myLot since I started my first post in September 14, 2008. Then due to the recent Raya holidays, I have less time to post and November being my first full month on myLot, I  managed to squeeze in some more posts to make it to the payout.

So, what is myLot? For those who have never heard of it, myLot is a paid to post site where you can earn by starting discussions, responding to discussions and uploading photos. You would also earn a portion from your referrals if they are actively doing the things that I have just mentioned.

You can see that between September 30 to October 12, my earnings are low and that’s when we were having our Raya and I was having too much fun at home and therefore, not much time for myLot. You can also notice some drops during weekends as those are my rest days. We all need some rest, right?

I have not been updating this blog for a few days now. I am around but I was just too busy to update and not too lazy to update. Why?

It was a long weekend with the Deepavali holiday that fell on Monday and during those days I was either out of the house or in the house but out of blogging. On Saturday, I went out with my family to an open house hosted by an ex-colleague somewhere in Kampung Subang and right after that, we went to get some shoes for my wife’s clients at SACC and Sunway Pyramid. By the time I got home, I was already too exhausted and watching Malaysia went down on penalty to Vietnam added to the no desire to update mood.

On Sunday, I had a fellow blogger, Lankapo and his family coming over for lunch and in the evening, the whole family went out to Jusco at Sunway Pyramid to top up our groceries and those were enough to take up any blogging time available.

On Monday, my family and I attended another open house by an ex-colleague somewhere in Puchong and then we went over to Lankapo’s house for a visit.

While at home during all those days, blogging would definitely not a good idea when my son, Pasha, was actively up, awake and playing as we had to play along with him. By the time he got tired and went to sleep, we were already sleeping and there went my blogging time…

Yesterday, I thought that I could put up an entry, I had to attend to a customer with some upgrade issues and the little time that I had for my break, I used that to catch up on my myLot postings since I am just a few cents away to make it to my minimum payout limit so that I can get paid by next month.

So, due to the above, I was not doing my regular Entrecard drops and I have not been able to reply to those who had shouted at the shoutbox. I think there are one or two comments that I have not replied yet. However, not to worry as I will be dropping EC, replying to shouts, replying to comments and updating regularly once I have got my rhythm back.
