At Home – Locked Out

It was a typical Monday morning. Lots of goodbye waves and flying kisses from my wife and son. I was on the phone while driving to meet a client in KL. Once I got off the phone and reach my destination at the same time, there was a message from an unknown number. The number was unfamiliar but the message was written in a very familiar style. I called back the number and the person who answered passed it on to my wife. Guess what? My son closed the door  when they were on the way out and the faulty lock kept them out. She got hold of the neighbour and the repair man and now we have a new lock. Awesome!

At Work – Planning Ahead

My idea of planning ahead is always what I have been used to and that is to plan for something that would take months or years to complete such as a multi million ringgit project. Now, I have to submit a weekly plan. What I did this week and what I plan to do next week… This is going to be tough…

The Client – To Ask Around Is Good!

This guy that I work with at my client has this strange problem of doing things, which are not really familiar to him, his way without asking those who know better and in the end, I had to do things twice, trice, etc… duh…

It has been a very long time since my last update. My bad! The last time I was busy trying to get a job and did not update for a long time. This time, I was busy with work and I do not have much time left for me to update as frequently as I used to be. Nevertheless, this blog will not be left to die and that is a promise. I just need to add some extra motivation to my life so that I would be able to write more often… We will see whether that would actually happen or not… haha!

Anyway, maybe I will let you all know what is going on at work and why I did not have time to update aka the excuse of not updating…

The thing is that I was taking care of 6 projects. I said was since a few days ago, I got to transfer two of my projects to another project manager and that leaves me with just 4 and may be then, I would have some time to just pop in here and write a word or two ha…

My first project is to manage the development of a portal for the agency that takes care of all the wild animals in West Malaysia. This is an agency where animals go to lodge complaints against the human… just kidding but really, they do take care of the animals welfare…

My second project is to attend monitoring meetings for a digital library project for the ministry of defence. Nothing much to do but lots of time taken to travel to the meeting sites. The previous meetings were held in Lumut, Port Dickson, Johor Bahru and Alor Star. The next meeting would be held in Port Dickson again.

My third project is to manage some hardware and software subscription and maintenance services for one of the local universities. The fourth (given to another PM recently) was about the same thing but for the agency that takes care of the Prime Minister… Lucky guy for having a whole agency making sure that he is okay…

The fifth (also given to another PM) was another digital library project and this time it is for the agency that take cares of the lawyers… No wonder they are so…. err… choose your own descriptions to describe them… heh heh!

The last and the latest and the one that has been taking most of my time is a data leakage prevention project for one of the oil and gas giants in Malaysia… Lots of meetings just to complete the scope of work… Guess what? It is not complete yet…

After missing for more than three months, I have finally found the mood opportunity to post a new entry. May be some of would want to read about what actually happened to me.

Let me start from the beginning and that is from the time before I went missing in action and the event that took place following that so that you would have the whole picture on what happened back then.

I worked for a small IT company that had 15 staffs at the time when I joined them in 2000. Things was going fine where I worked myself up from a senior consultant to the software manager. In 2004, they had some financial crisis due to some super duper business planning where the overhead became more than the profit. Due to some pressures from the owners and other factors that I did not know, one by one started to leave the company, including the managing director, which left the company with a malnourished body, a weak tail and without a head. Just imagine that…

The owners than made an offer to a few of us to stay back and mend the sinking ship. We were offered a mall amount of shares and in return we had to patch up all the holes and ensure that it remained afloat.

By the way, for your information, the company was a reseller of a technologically challenged piece of ERP software called SYSPR*, where the principal managed it from Sydney, Australia and Bangalore, India. And yet they claimed to be well versed with the customers and market trend in Malaysia. It beats me until now how they manage to arrogantly claim that.

Anyway, I took over the company as the general manager, software manager, account manager, project manager, debt collector, runner, etc officially in 2004 with a total headcount of 3 staffs. It was really tough in the beginning where we even did not get our salaries for a few months so that we could pay our suppliers and principal, which was acting worse than a loan shark, first.

However, our hard work and perseverance paid off and we managed to break even in 2006 and eventually made profits in 2007 and 2008. That’s when the whole trouble began…

My apologies to all my friends and loyal readers of this blog as there has been no new post until today. I just need  to tell all of you that I am currently in a work related crisis of the colossal proportion. The magnitude of the crisis is giving me no desire and motivation to put up a decent entry and I am not sure when the next entry will come as I am in the midst of trying my best to resolve this unexpected problem.

So please bear with me and wish me luck and send me your prayers!

Dari pagi emang udah janjian ama intan mo emam di cable secara banyak yg blom kelar jam 2 baru g nyampe sana cmn naik ke atas bentar anter pesenan npdm but mbak ria (*mayan tambahan jajan lagi*) ama ambil just buat boss.. trus ngajakin nona2 ngupi di tulalit bawah.. laper euy.. cari posisi ngumpet paling strategis biar gak ketawan Jay(*bos mobile di bolehnet skr*).. huahahaha… next ngantor.. discuss banyak hal sm ifan our (*content manager yg baru..*) transfer ilmu dikit.. (*secara g dah ganti tugas gituh..*)

:: Jumat ::

niatnya pagi2 mo ke iguana… tapi liat2 berkas blom ada yg siap juga ya udah delay deh sampe hari senin.. make sure smua bahan yg harus di kasih prepared on monday.. ngobrol design template wap sama davro(*our graphic designer*) trus lanjutin bikin proposal and ngumpulin materi gambar yg kita punya… seperti yg boss bilang kemaren dia bener2 gak nongol seharian… ribet.. gajian tertunda sampe senen!!! boooooooooooooossss teganya dikauuuuuuuuuuu!!!! ( lunch di kabel deket2 jumatan.. pegel jalan kaki.. huaaaaa kang ojek pada jumatan smuaaa… 

sore2 udah janjian mo berenang di citos… sempet mikir bakal gak jadi coz lepas magrib anak2 masih pada dikantor juga tp jadi dink akhirnya.. ehhehe… mia gak puguh niiih ngajarinya setengah hati.. kayaknya g mesti ikutan les beneran deh… dari tadi usaha gak sukses2… ngatur napas aja gak jago apa lagi ngambang… huhuhu ( payah.. tapi lumayan fun juga… kemaren2 takut banget sama aer kolam… udah pegel kecipak kecipuk di air.. order makanan… teh botol plus omlet jamur keju sedeeeeeeep banget… *pdhal sebelumnya udah celamitan test mi ayam punya mia… * hehehe kenapa g jadi maha gembul yaaa..?? kelar2 udah jam 10 ajah…

gak berasa.. specially sambil nunggu my sugar plump balik dari kencan semalam-nya sm tmn ce indo yg lg maen ke sana… hehehe.. godain terus ajah… ;P (*maap udah jadi evil… *) walau udah super ngantuk dua2nya tetep maksa onlen walo bentar plus acara tambahan ngambek… huhuhu.. gak seru juga klo ga ada ambekannya siiih… hehehe.. pokoknya tuntas sampe bisa bobo sambil senyum lagi.. lebih baik gitu tho…??

kena tugas dari papa nihh… sebeeeeeeeeeelll!!! tamu2 kpu daerah pada dateng bawa anak sama istri jalan2.. entah gimana cara dari janjian pertama di mangga dua then pindah mereka udah nungguin di ancol sampe pada masuk ke dufan.. dan ended di kolam renang ancol wadooooooooh… mana panasa banget lagiiii gak tahaaaaaaan.. gw gak siap dengan topi and kacamata adem huhuhu sebel… untung g pake tangan panjang.. klo gak berabe bisa2 gosong seminggu tengah terik matahari gitu pada maen panas2an!!!! mana papa kabur lagi ditengah permaenan… woooooi yg punya tamu sapa yaaaaaaaaa?!?! heraaaan deeeeh!!

Bangunin sugarplum subuh then tidur lagi.. baru ke bangun lagi jam 8… seperti plan kemaren.. abis telponan langsung mandi cuci baju, gosok 1 bak baju yg udah gak sempat disentuh mama sejak ayah datang.. huhuhu… bener2 seharian kerja bakti nih g… ( kelar2 udah jam 2.30wib ajah.. pegeeeeeeel.. mo mandi lagi tapi ngadem dulu aaaah… eeeeeeeeh abis mandi kenyang makan… ngantukk ketiduran deeh… bangun2 sore… my sugar plum jalan2 seharian oposite g kemaren laaah… klo kmrn dia dirumah kebersihan (*tkt ada inspeksi dadakan ktnya *) and gw yg diluar all day long.. hihihi… gantian hari ini gw yg dirumah ajah… dan dia sampe jam segini juga masih lom pulang jg… poor2 sayang.. moga2 km had a good time with your friend yaaa.. so…
